Our bolt-on rear stress bars are designed to minimize rear chassis flex under hard cornering, thus reducing understeer and improving stability. Constructed of heavy wall 7/8" diameter steel tubing and features heavy duty laser cut and welded ends. After a quick installation you'll notice that you've retained over 90% of your trunk space! Legal for SCCA IMPROVED TOURING and STREET PREPARED classes. Finished in gloss black powder coat.

MK1 Rear Stress Bar
Fitment into my Scirocco 16V was great. It does not take up much trunk space at all and helps the body from flexing. Combined with the front upper strut bar, the car handles better and doesn't roll as much. Thank you!

Pretty good!
Overall I'm very happy with my rear support stress bar. These little upgrades don't make much of a noticeable difference in day to day street traffic but they are still good to have. Very happy with the fit and ease of instilation on this. Wonderful to find aftermarket parts that actually bolt in like they should. Took fifteen minutes to install in my Jetta GLI, my brother sat in the trunk to tighten it up, if you don't fit in your trunk you'll need to lean over a bit or come in from the side one side at a time or with a friend. Metal on metal contact worries me slightly and might chip paint which could lead to rust. I might take this out and add a little gasket maker just to cushion it. There's also a little squeak sound that comes from the rear and on my vehichle now while I'm driving down the road. Gasket maker might help that too or it might just need to settle. Rubber caps on the shocks won't fit with this installed, mine are just resting on the top now, I'll try to fit them inside the notch on the inside of the bar when have spare time. Overall very good peice, high quality construction, bolts on in minutes, and improves your car. I would recommend it to anyone who wants an easy little upgrade on their Mk1.

The items I ordered are well made, perfect fit and although ground shipping for CA to ME takes a while, it was packed well and made the trip with no issues. Would DEFINITELY purchase from them again.

The rear stress bar is ok, fitment at the rings on top of the strut tower of my MK1 Scirocco could be a little better and a triangulated design would also be better but hey, Its the only one left in the market as far as I can tell so glad to have it!
